The Mainstream Media has been Focused on Three Things in Africa.

The Brazen Acts of Piracy Off the Coast of Somalia that threatens to Shut Down a Vital Waterway to the World and has Brought Naval Elements from Several Countries including the United States to the Region.

The Spike in the Fighting in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo that has Resulted in 3,100 More UN Peacekeepers being deployed and a New Round of Talks in Nairobi.

And the Cholera Outbreak in Zimbabwe. Will this be the Final Act in this Modern Tragedy.

But there are other Crises that are on the Back Burner that threaten to Erupt in the Near Future.

First of All Lets Discuss Sudan. The Situation in Darfur does not bode well for any Solution to be developed in the near future.

But there is another situation that threatens to Explode into Violence in the Near Future as well. This conclusion is easy to Reach as the Arms Embargo against Sudan is Broken Without a Second Thought.  And the Arms are not just being sold to the Sudanese Government either.

The Government of Southern Sudan has also been Acquiring Arms as well. As a Matter of Fact the Armor that was Seized by the Somali Pirates were purchased by GOSS.

Recently there has been Deployment of at least 6 Battalions of the Sudan Army into the Oil Rich Province of  Kordofan.

This is a Flash Point in the Making.

There are Several Crisis Spots in Africa that are Brewing at this time.

Another Location where Tensions are on the verge of erupting is Nigeria. Earlier this Month Christians and Muslims Clashed in the North over a Disputed Election.

Also the Situation in the Niger Delta does not show any sign of being resolved Anytime soon. There is a Similar situation in neighboring Cameroon in the Bakissa Peninsula as well. These Insurgencies that have Oil as a Primary Factor could increase over the next few years.

The Problems in Both Darfur and the Congo are Affecting Neighboring States as well. Insurgencies are active in Chad and the Central African Republic. A Peace Accord in Uganda is waiting for the Signature of the Leader of the LRA.

In West Africa Drug Trafficking and Corruption are Major Issues. The US and Other Countries have been Focused on Terrorism in this Region as well. President Jammeh of Gambia looks like He wants to be the next Robert Mugabe.

So which one will deteriorate first?
