There are two other items that need to be discussed. First of all
is the Comprehensive Policy Review towards Sudan.
Although I believe that the situation is a now a "Low-Intensity" Conflict however the
War is not over. Two Peacekeepers were kidnapped yesterday. And History shows that Khartoum has a history of not honoring
Peace Deals.
I wrote an item that appeared this week on Sudan Tribune and Bor Globe News
regarding why I think removing Sudan from the Terror Watch List is short sighted. However a Program of Smart Sanctions
against the Leadership in Khartoum could work. The Question is who will be targeted.
Today there are Presidential Elections in Gabon. The Previous President ruled the Country
for 41 years before passing away this year. His Son is currently a Candidate for President during todays election.
There was a history of Corruption and Cronyism during the Previous Administration.
Gabon lies in the Gulf of Guinea Region which is an Area of Interest of the US.
So this means who knows how the US and the Population will react to the elections. Turnout
was high today and the atmosphere was tense.
