The United States acting in concert with Key African and European Allies Started Flintlock 08 which is a Military Exercise Underway in Western Africa.

This Exercise which Wraps up on November 20th has a situation that has some People Interested.

USAF Special Forces are using CV-22 Osprey Aircraft

The Trans-Saharan Counterrorism Partnership Program (TSCTP) is a Program that has only been in Operation for less than a Decade.

Al-Qaida has launched a series of Horrific Bombings in the Past in Algeria and Morrocco.

It is believed that the Regional Cells of the Terrorist Group has used the Porous Borders of Nations in the Region to Move with Impunity.

Earlier this year a Peace Accord was reached in Niger in an attempt to Bring that Insurgency to a Conclusion. The Coup in Mauritania is a reason for concern as well. As well as what could be the next reason for Regional Instability: DRUG TRAFFICKING!

The CV-22 The Newest Weapon in the USAF Special Weapons Inventory.

One of the Key Aspects of the TSCTP is the Specialized Training that the African Forces will receive. Training for Peacekeeping Operations and Disaster Relief Will be Just as Important as the Specialized Weapons Training and Border Security. This is the First Flintlock Exercise being Undertaken by Africom.

The Air Force Feels that Using these Aircraft in Mali Gives a Unique Opportunity to test the Speed, Range and Capabilities of this Aircraft in a demanding environment. The Marine Corps has used their Version of this Aircraft Effectively in Iraq.

In Recent Weeks there have been calls for Helicopters to be Deployed to Darfur and to have Special Forces Units Augment the UN Peacekeepers recover the Initiative in a Rapidly Collapsing Environment in the Congo.

Could a New Administration Use this unique Aircraft to Address two UN Peacekeeping Missions in chaos?

These Events will be Monitored by Confused Eagle.
