At one point during the Current War in Iraq the Pentagon made a interesting discovery. Almost one third of the Insurgents
that were captured were from Western Africa.
The region mentioned above has poorly defined and marked borders. Most of the people native to the region are nomadic
in nature and have their own culture. Islam plays a large part of the culture there.
French Intel reports that the terrorists are using 4 wheel drive vehicles to move around as well. The US has been attempting
to limit the influence the Islamists in the region by training the Military in Counterterrorism and repairing the Infrastructure
of these Impoverished States.
This is Africa will this be the next Front in the War on Extremism? Or will it be a Proxy War?

Small Arms Available adds up to instability that is waiting to be exploited.
The US Navy has deployed the USS Fort McHenry to be used as a platform to train the Armed Forces of the Region. Whether or
not this action or others acts can help the region remain unclear at this time.
